As a real estate attorney in Eastern and Central Connecticut, I know all too well about the serious problem of crumbling foundations. Regardless of whether or not the problem exists within your home or your neighborhood, it affects us all in that it negatively impacts real estate values across the entire region. There is no easy answer to this problem, and although the proposed captive insurance company sounds promising, the insurance industry also needs to participate with the legislature in finding a solution. We need real action on this as soon as possible.
